John Sakach Co. is partnering with Little Giant and 3M DBI-Sala to sponsor Fall Protection Training at no charge.
3M Basics of Fall Protection Truck Demonstration
Attendees will learn the basics of fall protection including:
- Anchorage – how to tie off properly
- Latest OSHA and ANSI Standards
- Harnesses and how to wear them properly
- Drop demonstrations focusing on the impact the body experiences during a fall
- Self Retracting Lifelines
- Horizontal Lifelines
- Descent and Rescue
3M Fall Protection Equipment Inspector: ANSI Standards require that fall protection equipment is inspected on an annual basis (semi-annual for construction) by a Competent Inspector. Attendees will be trained as an
“Equipment Inspector” by 3M DBI-Sala. This course is required every 2 years (formerly called Competent Inspector Course). Class is 2 hours.
Little Giant Ladder Safety, Usage, and Inspection: There are over 2,000 ladder-related injuries each day. In this class, attendees will learn about different schools of thought on ladder safety as well as best practices to promote safe ladder use and training resources. We will focus on the causes of ladder-related injuries and how Ladder Safety by Design can decrease these injuries. Attendees will learn about different types of ladders, ladder anatomy, and how ladders are rated. The class will also include information on proper ladder inspection. Attendees will be given a test at the end of class and will earn a certificate upon completion. Class is 1 hour.
3M Temporary Horizontal Lifeline Systems Awareness: OSHA 1926.502(d)(8) states that horizontal lifelines shall be designed, installed, and used, under the supervision of a qualified person. This course will answer technical questions concerning who the Qualified Person is on temporary, pre-engineered horizontal lifelines. OSHA clearly states that it is the employer’s responsibility to determine who the Qualified Person is based on their knowledge, training, and experience. Attendees will be trained on 3M’s temporary horizontal lifelines as per OSHA 29 CFR 1926.32(m). Class is 2 hours.
3M Leading Edges and Sharp Edges in Fall Protection: There have been numerous cuts on web lanyards and SRLs due to Leading Edge/Sharp Edge. The terminology “Leading Edge/Sharp Edge” is a very complex issue that has been greatly impacting the fall protection community. Therefore, Shur-Sales and Marketing has built a 1-hour training course where attendees will learn about ANSI Z359.14, Leading Edge, Sharp Edge, reasons why web lanyards/cable SRLs (non-leading edge) can slice over a sharp edge and we will focus on clearance and set back distance on Leading Edge SRLs. Class is 1 hour.
Class limited to 35 attendees.
Lunch will be provided.
