Multi Part Slings

Tri-Flex®

Tri-Flex® Wire Rope Slings provide the best combination of strength and flexibility. Because of the Tri-Flex® sling construction, there is a large savings in material and machine costs in the larger sizes. This, combined with ease of use, makes Tri-Flex® Wire Rope Slings the slings for smart buyers.

Gator-Flex®

Gator-Flex® Grommets are endless for heavy lifts that require short connection lengths. These slings can be made shorter than standard multi-part slings, but maintain all of their advantages. They are the most flexible grommets in the industry.

Gator-Laid®

For heavy lifting, Gator-Laid® Wire Rope Slings are the most efficient and flexible multipart wire rope slings that meet all industrial and regulatory standards. This sling has metal sleeves for the splice connection and parallel-laid wire in the eyes. It is a heavy-lift sling that can be made in short working lengths. Gator-Laid® products were developed in conjunction with the offshore oil industry to provide the world’s best heavy-lift wire rope slings.

7 Part Sling

Each sling is fabricated by laying a continuous length of rope upon itself in a helical pattern throughout the sling body and the two eyes. Only two splices occur – where the two ends of the rope are hand tucked into the rope body near the eye at each end of the sling. This construction provides flexibility in the sling, for good handling characteristics in a sling body that is compact and free of metal sleeves or fittings. These slings have a smooth, cable-laid appearance in the body, and uniform eye configuration. Sizes also available in 5/8″ through 2″ “component” rope diameters.

6 Part Flat Braid

The 6 part flat braided sling is lightweight, flexible, kink resistant and provides a wide surface to lift material that is sensitive to scaring and crushing. Eye can either be wire served or wrapped with webbing and plastic dipped.

Single Leg Slings

Single Part, Mechanical Spliced Slings

Eyes are formed using the flemish eye splice. End are secured by pressing a metal sleeve, either steel or aluminum, over the ends of the strands of the splice. Pull is directly along the centerline of rope and eye. Gives most efficient use of rope capacity, is economical.

Flemish eye splice – In the standard flemish eye mechanical splice, rope is separated into two parts – 3 adjacent strands, and 3 adjacent stands and the core. These two parts are then re-laid back in opposite directions to form an eye, and ends are secured with a pressed metal sleeve.

Single Part, Hand Spliced Slings

The end of a single wire rope is bent back along the rope to from the eye, and strands are hand tucked into the body of the rope. This splice is tapered and concealed by tucking strands end into the rope.

** Warning: Hand- Spliced sling should not be used in lifts where the sling may rotate and cause the wire rope to unlay.
